Inspiration for India Rose: India Rose is inspired by the Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal) in the city of Jaipur, a majestic example of Rajput architecture built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. The palace is painted a characteristic rose pink and consists of 953 delicately honeycombed sandstone windows that allow the breeze (hawa) to circulate through, keeping the palace deliciously cool in the hot summer months. India Rose attempts to capture the magical effect of the late evening sun-rays as they bathe the palace in rosy golden light creating an radiant illusion from an enchanting, time kissed fairytale.
